Information we collect
When you send a gift or invitation through GiftMax, we collect only what is needed to deliver it: your name, the recipient's name, the recipient's email address or mobile phone number, and the personal message you write. Payment details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe; GiftMax never sees or stores your card number.
When a recipient claims gift money, the identity details and bank or debit card information they provide are entered directly with Stripe and are never seen or stored by GiftMax. GiftMax keeps only a reference linking the phone number or email address the gift was sent to with that recipient's Stripe payout account (and the last four digits of the account, to describe it), so that a later gift to the same person can be claimed with one tap. A recipient can choose a different account at any time, and can ask us to remove this reference.
How we use your information
We use the information above solely to deliver your card, gift, or invitation, to let the recipient claim their gift, and to provide customer support. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing messages to you or your recipients.
Text messaging (SMS)
If a purchaser provides a recipient's mobile phone number, GiftMax sends that recipient a one-time transactional text message containing their private gift or invitation link. Message frequency: one message per gift or invitation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of future messages, or HELP for help. GiftMax does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent are used only to deliver the message described above through our messaging service provider, acting solely on our behalf.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers required to operate GiftMax — payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and text message delivery — each acting on our instructions and solely to provide their service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & deletion
Gift and invitation records are kept so recipients can access their cards and claim their gifts. If you would like a gift's personal data removed after delivery, email us and we will delete it.
